Frucor Corporate Social Responsibility

Frucor sponsored 400 trees for Project Island Song, some of which were planted by a very enthusiastic lot from their sales and marketing team on Thursday 1st September.

This was sponsored as part of their company’s corporate social responsibility programme during their Bay of Islands conference at Copthorne Waitangi.

With a tight timeframe the Frucor team made a whirlwind start to the planting behind Otehei Bay. The remaining trees will be planted as part of our 2017 planting programme.

Thanks Frucor for your great support!

Far North Youth Council
young leaders 3The Far North Youth Council is made up of passionate, motivated and respectful future leaders from Towai to Te Kao who have been selected to represent their community at a youth level. They recently spent a day with our team on Urupukapuka Island to learn about Project Island Song. The enthusiastic group weeded planting areas and learned about bird monitoring for our reintroduced species such as toutouwai and tieke - with lots of questions and ideas shared. The day was coordinated by Aya Morris, FNDC's Community Development Adviser, and Project Island Song Coordinator Theresa Vujcich, who was supported by Debby Bayens and Naini Heremaia from the Guardians. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a great day. And we're thrilled that the Youth Council are keen to keep working with Project Island Song.
